WATCH: Peyton Manning jokes he will go as Hendon Hooker for Halloween
NFL legend Peyton Manning showed some love for the newest Tennessee star quarterback, saying he would be Hendon Hooker for Halloween. Manning made the joke as the “Manningcast” of Monday Night Football drew to a close after Eli Manning asked him if he still had time to trick-or-treat.
The former Tennessee star said he would be going as Hooker, calling him the Heisman favorite and his new favorite player.
Peyton Manning shouts out Hendon Hooker
“I’m dressing up as Hendon Hooker. Heisman-favorite. Quarterback of the No. 2 Tennessee Vols going into Athens this weekend. My new favorite player,” said Manning as the broadcast drew to a close.
As he proudly declared Tennessee’s quarterback as his nomination for the Heisman Trophy, his brother seemed impressed by the choice. Following up on his reveal, Eli asked Peyton if he would be in attendance at Athens for the huge game this week — before daring his brother to dress up like Hooker and show up in person.

“If you went to Athens dressed as Hendon Hooker, then that would be good,” joked Eli.
After downplaying the idea of attending the game at all, Peyton went back into his older brother persona and told Eli to “be quiet” and finish the broadcast.
Although it seems unlikely that Peyton will actually be dressing up in a Hooker jersey, Eli’s question didn’t immediately draw a denial from Peyton that he would stay home while his alma mater took on the defending national champions.
