Police stop Tennesssee fans from taking Neyland goalpost with tasers after Alabama upset

Two years ago when Tennessee took down Alabama, the goalposts from Neyland Stadium wound up in the Tennessee River. On Saturday, police inside Neyland Stadium were going to make sure something similar did not take place. While they likely were happy to see the Vols get a win, tasers were pulled out to keep the goalposts safe.
Right after the game ended, there was somebody there to take the goalposts down. They were affiliated with the stadium crew, though. Fans were not behind the process. In a video captured, you can hear police telling people to back up and move away.
While the video from Wallace does not show anybody getting tased, ESPNās Chris Low said a few people āpaid the priceā for sticking around for too long. He only sent out a photo, not having a video of anything.
āStorming the field and tearing down the goal posts two years ago vs. Alabama was clearly not enough for Tennessee fans,ā Low said via X. āA few that lingered too long Saturday on the field paid the price by getting tased.ā
Tasers or no tasers, the party is going to be on from Knoxville. Winning the Third Saturday in October is something head coach Josh Heupel has made a point of emphasis since taking over the job and now has two wins against the Volsā rivals.

Father of quarterback Jalen Milroe gets into altercation with Tennessee fans
It was not a pretty scene on the field forĀ AlabamaĀ for much of the game on Saturday, an eventual 24-17 loss toĀ Tennessee. And there were some ugly scenes off it, including one involvingĀ Jalen MilroeāsĀ father,Ā Quentin Milroe.
While in the stands at Neyland Stadium, evidently some Tennessee fans said something that riled up the elder Milroe. In a short clip shown on social media, he can be heard delivering a few expletives before walking away from the ordeal.
āI donāt care who you are, thatās my son,ā Quentin Milroe appeared to say before finishing his message. āF*** you and her.ā
