Tennessee baseball announces Saturday schedule change due to inclement weather

The Tennessee Volunteers baseball team is rolling along, looking like one of the nation’s best. The defending national champions have flexed their muscle at every turn, looking like they’ll be a force yet again in the NCAA Tournament. On Friday, the team announced they had to deal with some scheduling changes to Saturday’s game.
With the expected inclement weather in the forecast tomorrow, first pitch for Saturday’s game against Florida has been moved up from 6 p.m. to 3:30 pm,” the announcement on Friday evening said.
The Tennessee Volunteers pitching staff brought some special stuff on Friday night, tossing a no-hitter against St. Bonaventure. It’s the first since 2002, and just the ninth in program history.
It’s also the fourth combined no hitter in Tennessee baseball history. Liam Doyle, Tanner Franklin, Brandon Arvidson, Brayden May, and Michael Sharman all combined for a no-hitter for the Volunteers.

Liam Doyle led Tennessee with 13 strikeouts, allowing just two walks and two base runners in 5.2 innings of work. The hard throwing lefty retired 17 straight batters on Friday night between the walks.
Tennessee also features some of the best hitting power of any team in America. They proved it yet again on Friday night against the Bonnies, hitting four home runs and seven total extra base hits in scoring 12 runs. Sluggers Gavin Kilen and Cannon Peebles led the way with three RBIs. Andrew Fischer and Dalton Bargo chipped in two RBIs each in the blowout.
The Volunteers are looking like one of the most dominant teams in college baseball and their start to the 2025 campaign has been impressive. They currently sit at 17-0, continuing to look like one of the best teams in the country. The defending national champions have showed zero signs of slowing down. The Volunteers climbed to No. 1 in the Top 25 polls last week and with the way they’ve started the year, it’s easy to see why.
