WATCH: Tennessee pitcher Ben Joyce throws over 100 mph

For the No. 1 ranked Tennessee Volunteers, relief pitcher Ben Joyce has been one of the best in the bullpen. Friday night against the Florida Gators was no different, helping them to an 8-2 win.
Joyce threw 1.2 innings, only allowing one hit, walking one, and also striking out two batters. However, the most impressive part of his appearance, once again, is his velocity. Pitching Ninja posted videos of Joyce throwing over 100 miles per hour once again, reaching 103 and 104 against the Gators.
A nice slider was thrown in there as well. While it may not bring the heat, it was still a nasty strikeout pitch from Joyce.

Rob Friedman (Pitching Ninja) did point out there have been times where Tennessee could be juicing their radar guns, giving Joyce a couple of extra miles per hour on the pitch. However, Friday’s game took place in Gainesville, proving Joyce has legit velocity.
With the win, Tennessee extended their lead inside of the SEC East, only having one conference loss on the season. The Gators will have two more opportunities to add to the loss total, with games scheduled for Saturday night and Sunday afternoon.
Tennessee manager on suspension: ‘I probably deserved it’

Tennessee head baseball coach Tony Vitello is serving a four-game suspension after a heated incident with an umpire last weekend. It seems the Vols head coach understands the error of his ways amid the four-game reflection period.

“It is what it is. I probably deserved it,” he said.
Things got off to a heated start in the first inning of last week’s Tennessee vs. Alabama baseball matchup. The Crimson Tide stunned the top-ranked Volunteers 6-3 the night before and it didn’t take long before blood began to boil between the to clubs.
Alabama’s Zane Denton hit a line drive off of Tennessee starting pitcher Chase Dollander. The Vols got the out to close out the inning, but Dollander fell to the ground in pain. Tennessee pitching coach Frank Anderson quickly came out of the dugout yelling at the Alabama dugout and had to be separated by the umpires.
Vitello wasn’t far behind as the Vols trainer was tending to the injured Dollander. Both coaches were arguing with various umpires when Anderson was then ejected. Third base umpire Jeffrey Macias eventually ejected Vitello after a quick back and forth.
After the ejection, Vitello removed his hat and marched toward Macias, bumping him with his chest before being separated from the rest of the officiating crew.
