3-star safety Jourdan Thomas commits to Tennessee

Just days after backing off of his commitment to Mississippi State, Montgomery (Ala.) Catholic Prep safety Jourdan Thomas has committed to Tennessee.
Thomas is the No. 815 prospect in the 2022 class, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He ranks as the No. 67 safety nationally and the No. 32 prospect in Alabama.
The 6-foot, 189-pounder decommitted from the Bulldogs on Wednesday ahead of his official visit to Knoxville this weekend. He initially chose Mississippi State in May over more than 20 offers, including the Volunteers, Indiana, UCF, South Carolina and others.

Thomas received an offer from Tennessee less than a month after he committed to the Bulldogs. And he visited the Vols for the first time in late June. He returned in October for an unofficial visit and came back this weekend for the official visit.
Jourdan Thomas is Tennessee’s 17th commitment in the 2022 class, joining a group headlined by four-star offensive tackle Addison Nichols and four-star quarterback Tayven Jackson. The Volunteers’ crop ranks No. 19 nationally and No. 8 in the SEC, according to the On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Rankings.
