Ole Miss transfer EDGE Chamberlain Campbell has chosen where his college football journey will continue. He’s headed to Toledo via the transfer portal, On3 has learned.

Campbell did not accumulate any stats with the Rebels. He’ll be hoping to turn it around and become a major contributor with the Rockets in 2025. Whether he’s able to do that remains to be seen.

Moreover, Campbell played high school football at Lakewood (Saint Petersburg, FL), where he was a three-star prospect. He was the No. 615 overall recruit in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Last season, Toledo was a formidable team. The Rockets went 8-5 during Jason Candle’s ninth season at the helm of the team. It took six overtimes, but they won the GameAbove Sports Bowl over Pittsburgh to cap their season off.

Now, they’ll be hoping their additions, plus Campbell, will help them build on their impressive 2024. Earlier this offseason, Toledo added former Kentucky running back Deamonte ‘Chip’ Trayanum, as well. He’ll have one year of eligibility remaining.

It was an impressive move, as Trayanum began his college career at Arizona State, playing some as a linebacker, initially. He eventually transferred to Ohio State and then Kentucky, and changed his position to full-time running back along the way.

Trayanum transferred to Kentucky from Ohio State ahead of the 2024 campaign but only played in three games after suffering a broken hand before the season. In his three appearances, Trayanum recorded 19 carries for 101 yards. In the 2023 season at Ohio State, Trayanum appeared in 12 games for the Buckeyes and was the team’s second-leading rusher, tallying 373 rushing yards and three touchdowns on 85 carries.

In total, Trayanum played two seasons at Ohio State and spent two seasons at Arizona State to begin his collegiate career. Trayanum amassed 692 yards and 10 touchdowns on 127 carries during his two seasons with the Sun Devils.
