Utah punter Jack Bouwmeester enters NCAA Transfer Portal
Utah punter Jack Bouwmeester has officially entered the NCAA Transfer Portal, On3’s Pete Nakos confirmed on Friday evening. The three-year starter was a second-team All-Big 12 selection this year and first team All-Pac-12 last year. His impressive tenure in Salt Lake City has officially come to an end. Bouwmeester, who has played in every game for the Utes since the 2022 season, has been a staple of the special teams’ unit. He has played in 39 games in three years for Utah, consistently performing at a high level.
Playing in all 12 games, he led the Big 12 in punts during the regular season, averaging 44.7 yards per attempt. It ranked him 14th among punters in Power Five conferences. His 60 punts included 13 of them that went over 50 yards, with a season-long of 62 yards against UCF. Bouwmeester also blasted 60-yarders against Baylor and Arizona. One of his best skills was punting with precision. He pinned his opponents inside their 20-yard line nine times, with his most impressive performances coming against BYU and Houston. Bouwmeester also acted as the holder for Utah’s field goals and PATs, which displays his versatility.
One of the more accomplished punters in America, he was on the Ray Guy Award Watch List the past two years, earning semifinalist honors in 2023. Bouwmeester also ranks sixth in Utah football history with a career punting average of 43.6 yards. He ranks seventh all-time in Utes program history with 33 punts of 50 yards or more. His career punting average ranked him fourth among active punters in the Big 12 conference at the end of the 2024 college football season.
