WATCH: 4-star Utah QB commit Isaac Wilson opens season with TD

The hype is inevitable for Draper (Utah) Corner Canyon four-star quarterback Isaac Wilson. The Utah Utes commit is the younger brother of former BYU star and current New York Jets QB Zach Wilson.
While most of the country awaits the beginning of high school football, Utah is one of the few states that began in the second week of August. Corner Canyon hit the road for its season-opener at West Valley City (Utah) Granger. Wilson wasted little time to produce his first highlight of his senior season.
On the first offensive snap from scrimmage of the game for the Chargers, Wilson rolled to his left and delivered a strike on the move to his receiver, who had nothing but space in front of him, resulting in a long touchdown.
The 5-foot-11, 180-pounder committed to Utah on May 24. He is the No. 335 overall prospect and No. 20 QB in the 2024 cycle, according to theĀ On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 2 player from Utah, behind his teammate and fellow Utah commit, four-star interior offensive lineman Isaiah Garcia.

āI felt it in my gut, my head, my mind and my heart and I knew they were the school for me,ā Wilson told On3 in June. āI love Coach (Andy) Ludwig and Coach (Kyle) Whittingham. Theyāre great guys. It was a perfect opportunity for me. Then, we got the check off from Zach. He got to come over and check out the offense.ā
Wilson was one of 20 QBs selected to compete at the 2023 Elite 11 Finals in June. He earned praise for his accuracy after the first day of the three-day event.
āUtah commitĀ Isaac WilsonĀ has a clean and concise delivery. His ability to get the football up and out is among the quickest at the Elite 11 Finals. He makes up for his lack of arm strength with a speedy release and he was one of the more consistently accurate passers on Day 1 of the Elite 11 Finals.ā
The speedy QB will lead Corner Canyon into a big matchup next week, as the Chargers will host Las Vegas Bishop Gorman, one of the top teams in the nation. Kickoff is set for Aug. 18.
