Diego Pavia claims Theo Von deal to date mom came with Tate McRae stipulation

Theo Von will have to do Diego Pavia one more favor before he can finally go on a date with the Vanderbilt quarterback’s mom. Reports emerged Saturday that Pavia had promised Von a date with his mother if the Commodores defeated South Carolina in Week 3, which they did.
However, now Pavia cleared up that there was another stipulation to their agreement. The QB posted on X that he wanted Von to set up a date with him and pop music star Tate McRae first.
“what @TheoVon forgot is, I said it was a deal if and only if he told @tatemcrae to lemme take her on A1 date in Nashville,” Pavia wrote. “Twitter make it happen.”
Von, who hosts the podcast This Past Weekend with Theo Von and lives in Nashville, was in attendance at the Commodores’ practice on Wednesday alongside streamer IShowSpeed. He was also at Saturday’s 31-7 Vanderbilt win on the sidelines where the deal was originally revealed.
“You don’t even want to know what (Theo) told me about Diego Pavia‘s mom,” SEC Network’s Cole Cubelic said on the broadcast. “It’s not bad. It’s not like that at all. The way that I understand this story is that if Diego Pavia wins this game, he promised you he would set you up on a date with his mom?”
With SEC Network announcers Tom Hart and Jordan Rodgers snickering in the background, Von set the record straight.

“Yes, it’s true,” Von said. “My goal is I’d like to marry a nurse someday so that’s why. He was telling me about that. I like being his friend, so I don’t want to end up being like his stepdad or something. We’ll see what happens.”
Pavia finished 18-of-25 passing for 177 yards and two touchdowns with one interception in the win against the Gamecocks. He also rushed 11 times for 24 yards.
The quarterback is in his his second season with the Commodores after transferring in from New Mexico State last season. He led them to a 7-6 finish while throwing for 2,293 yards and 20 touchdowns to four interceptions and also rushing for 801 yards and eight more touchdowns.
Based on the early performance from this season, it seems Pavia and Vanderbilt could be in for another big year. He has the Commodores looking like early contenders in the SEC, and it looks like he’s taking full advantage of the moment to shoot his shot with his celebrity crush. If it works, maybe he and Von can even make it a double date.
