“Everett was Tulsa’s running backs coach the last two seasons. Under Everett, Deneric Prince developed into an NFL prospect and finished this season with 729 rushing yards in eight games,” explained Zenitz on the move.
Everett joined the Tulsa coaching staff as their running backs coach in March of 2021. In his first season, the Tulsa running game gained 2,361 yards on the ground and was led by the school’s second-ranked rusher of all-time in Shamari Brooks. Last season, Tulsa’s offense ranked third in the AAC and 34th in the nation in their rushing attack.

Prior to joining Tulsa, Everett spent two seasons from 2019-20 as the running backs coach at the University of Akron. Prior to that, he spent two seasons in the same role at Central Michigan. One of the biggest names to come out of a program he was involved with as a coach is former first-round NFL draft pick Cordarrelle Patterson — who played for him at Hutchinson Community College where Everett was recruiting coordinator and running backs coach.
As a player, Everett played linebacker for three years at Indiana State where he was named defensive captain as a senior. Everett earned All-Missouri Valley Conference Honorable Mention honors as a senior, after recording 102 tackles and ranking in the top-20 in the nation for tackles.
