Washington football health updates: Jedd Fisch updates the status of multiple Huskies ahead of Apple Cup

Jedd Fisch needs a better Apple Cup result this season. After losing to the Washington State Cougars in his first year in Seattle with Washington, Fisch is hoping to come out of Pullman with a victory. Unfortunately, there are a few injuries the Huskies are dealing with moving forward.
Two of them are considered long-term, meaning they will both miss the in-state rivalry. Fisch also gave an update on cornerback Tacrario Davis, somebody who he later said would be considered “questionable.” A positive sign for Washington a few days from kickoff.
“Right now, we’re going to continue to monitor Tacario Davis, continue to monitor Jayvon Parker,” Fisch said. “We obviously know Rashid (Williams) is out. He has surgery, as did Dyson (McCutcheon). But other than that, I think the rest of the team is in a pretty good place.”
Further questions then came about McCutcheon and Williams, wondering if they would be done for the year. Fisch was optimistic about the latter, not so much about McCutcheon. However, there is a chance the defensive back returns for the 2026 season despite currently being on track to run out of eligibility.
“I think we have a chance to get Rashid back,” Fisch said. “Dyson will be out for the season. Dyson had a shoulder surgery… I believe he would have to medically redshirt, which would be a possibility.”

Jedd Fisch remains focused on Apple Cup amid coaching speculation
Two jobs opened up in college football this weekend with the respective firings of DeShaun Foster at UCLA and Brent Pry at Virginia Tech. Still, Jedd Fisch isn’t thinking about anything but Washington, and the Huskies’ next game this weekend with their rivalry in the Apple Cup.
Fisch, who hasn’t spent more than four years anywhere on his resumé to this point, addressed any job rumors that could come his way during his press conference on Monday. He turned his answer’s attention back on to Saturday’s matchup against Washington State, especially as the Cougars won over them last fall to give him his first loss as the Husky head coach.
“Yeah, I’m focused on the fact that we’re playing a team that beat us 24-19, and that is literally the only thing that I’m thinking about,” Fisch said. “We had a really tough game against them a year ago. We got stopped on the one-yard line. My mind is strictly on that.”
