3-star QB Jaxon Potter commits to Washington State

San Juan Capistrano (Calif.) Santa Margarita Catholic three-star quarterback Jaxon Potter has committed and signed with Washington State. Potter was previously pledged to UAB until Dec. 10.
Potter is the No. 1,389 overall prospect and No. 78 quarterback in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 129 player in California.

On3 rates Potter higher than other recruiting services, according to the Industry Comparison. Even though he is not ranked in the 2023 On300, Potter is the No. 55 quarterback and No. 85 player in California.
Landing the 6-foot-3, 170-pound signal-caller gives head coach Jake Dickert and his staff their quarterback of the future. The Cougars previously had a commitment from Portland (Ore.) West Linn three-star quarterback Sam Leavitt. However, Leavitt — rated a four-star by On3 — flipped his pledge to Michigan State.
