Kedrian Johnson details West Virginia's mindset that led to victory over TCU

West Virginia needed a win, and they got one this week against TCU.
The Mountaineers were up 15 at the half but saw their lead shrink to two points with about five minutes left in the game. But after a timeout from Bob Huggins, West Virginia went on a 12-5 run to end the game and win 74-65.
The Mountaineers have struggled to hold onto leads this year. Kedrian Johnson said in the postgame press conference that West Virginia wasn’t going to let its lead over TCU slip away in the second half.
“Of course, I mean, it’s happened almost every game,” Johnson said. “But I feel like this time, all the guys said we’re not losing this one. So we buckled down and got the win.”

Jimmy Bell added a double-double for West Virginia with 15 points and 12 rebounds.
Horned Frogs star guard Mike Miles popped off for a game-high 21 points on 8-for-12 shooting but the Mountaineers defense forced him to commit six turnovers. TCU in total had 19 turnovers that led to 24 points.
The loss ended a five-game losing streak for West Virginia to start conference play.
“I feel like, with the one assignment that we had, I think we should do that more often. Break the streak and I’m happy now,” Joe Toussaint said after the game. “Man, I’m happy we got one and now we just built — you know, we got one. But we got like 14 or 15 (games) left. So, you know, we’re gonna enjoy this one tonight. But we’re back to work tomorrow.”
