C.J. Williams, who just finished his freshman season at USC, entered the transfer portal earlier this week. Now, it appears he’s already on the move and in search of his new home.

Per a tweet he posted on Friday morning, Williams’ first stop will be to Wisconsin as he shared he’ll be in Madison visiting the Badgers this weekend.

Williams caught four passes during his first college season this year at USC. They went for 34 yards over the course of three games. However, rather than stay within Lincoln Riley’s offense led by Caleb Williams, he decided he wanted to leave Los Angeles following the Trojan’s loss in the Cotton Bowl.

As a former Top-25 wide receiver and Top-125 player in the 2022 Class per the On3 Consensus, Williams will be a young, highly coveted piece in the portal. Whether Luke Fickell and Wisconsin can make an impression on him, or even close the deal, depends on how things go over the weekend with Williams in town.

USC’s C.J. Williams enters the transfer portal

USC wide receiver C.J. Williams plans to enter the Transfer Portal, a source close to the former four-star recruit told On3.

In his first season of college, Williams played in 10 games tallying four receptions for 34 yards. A Mater Dei product, the receiver announced his decision to commit to USC during the the All-American Bowl. He went on to enroll early with the Trojans, joining a stacked receiver room.

UCLA was the other major school in his recruitment, and the Bruins are expected to be back in the mix.

He shined in high school, making a name for himself as a polished possession receiver. Known for his hands, he was not able to separate himself in a room this season that included reigning Biletnikoff Award winner Jordan AddisonMario Williams , and Tahj Washington.

Williams did not play in the Pac-12 Championship Game, but did make an appearance in USC’s Cotton Bowl loss to Tulane. His best game of the season came against Colorado, where he finished with two catches for nine yards.
