Over the last week, Wisconsin has emerged as a potential destination for star transfer quarterback Caleb Williams. As the former Oklahoma signal-caller looks for his new team, Badgers faithful is showing love to the quarterback.

During the Big Ten showdown between Wisconsin and Minnesota on the hardwood, Badgers fans started a loud “We want Caleb” chant.

As you can see, Williams would be beloved if he chose Wisconsin. Heck, any team he chooses would love to have him — but the Badgers are looking to shock the world and land the star quarterback.

Caleb Williams is the No. 1 ranked player in On3’s 2022 College Football Transfer Portal Rankings. It’s easy to see why he’s so coveted, as the quarterback is considered a program changer, and Wisconsin faithful wants a piece of that.

For fans that have been starved for a quarterback of his caliber since the days of Russell Wilson, Williams would be a revelation. Until his decision is made, Wisconsin fans will hope their chants reach the ears of Caleb Williams, and help sway him to Madison.

Moreover, the one school that came out of nowhere in the recruitment of Caleb Williams was the Wisconsin Badgers. Earlier this week, On3’s Gerry Hamilton reported the Badgers were becoming a real possibility for Williams as the timeline continues to extend.

Now, former Wisconsin players are starting to get involved. Legendary running back Montee Ball tweeted at Williams on Friday, attempting to get the quarterback to play for the Badgers.

“Caleb Williams… come on over to Camp Randall,” Ball said via a tweet. “You will not regret it!”

Continuing, Ball followed up with another tweet. This time, it was just a badger emoji — with Williams tagged. At the very least, former Wisconsin players are publicly recruiting the former On3 No. 1 overall player.

The ground game has always been the focus of Wisconsin’s offense. The team has produced special running backs such as Ball on a yearly basis. However, Williams would be able to add a new sprinkle to the run game as a quarterback. He proved multiple times this season he is able to gain chunk yards on the ground.

In his freshman season at Oklahoma, Caleb Williams threw for 1,912 yards with 21 touchdowns and four interceptions, adding 442 rushing yards and six touchdowns over 11 appearances before opting to transfer.
