Adonyss Currie was one of the more active cornerbacks in coverage on Saturday at the OT7 FInals and backed that impressive showing up with a handful of highlight plays before his Team Toa squad was eliminated on Sunday. Personal Life

Quartz Hill coach Russell Gordon said Adonyss Currie has the "highest ceiling of any player I've ever coached." That's largely because of Currie long frame and remarkable speed, Gordon said. As a sophomore, Currie had personal best times of 10.52 seconds in the 100 meters and 21.71 in the 200 meters. As a freshman, he ran anchor on a state champion 4X400m relay team. “I really think I can run in the 10.2 (100m) range,” Currie told 247Sports. “That’s my goal, and I think I can do it. I don’t plan to run track in college, and this will likely be my last year running since I plan to be an early grad next year so I'm hoping to put up some really good times. I think coaches see that speed along with what I do on defense and get really excited. I know I have to keep working to reach my potential."
