As a College Recruit

Big-framed offensive tackle who plays with natural coordination, balance and movement skills. Measured at around 6-foot-6, 300 pounds with a 33-inch arm and 11-inch hand prior to his senior season. A light-footed, easy mover who plays with innate flexibility at his size. Has a strong base that he uses to balance and create power. Has some dominant flashes as a drive blocker and finisher. Also shows some natural tools that project well as a pass protector. Doubles as a defensive tackle at the prep level and received his initial offers on that side of the ball. Is one of the top heavyweight wrestlers in the Midwest, turning in a 41-0 state championship season on the mat as a junior. Does not face top competition and will need to adjust to the uptick in talent level once he gets to college.

Charles Jagusah‘s physical dimensions, fluidity and multi-sport background reminds us of Tristan Wirfs. Both also come from similar geographic areas – Jagusah lives on the Illinois and Iowa border in Rock Island, Illinois. Wirfs is from Mount Vernon, Iowa, just 73 minutes west of Rock Island. Jagusah plays on both sides of the ball as an offensive and defensive lineman, as Wirfs did. The coordination, balance and smooth movement patterns are also similar. While the frames are close, Wirfs has longer arms at the same stage. Like Wirfs, Jagusah is a dominant high school wrestler who cuts weight from the 300 pound range to get under the 285 pound limit for heavyweights. The 2023 prospect is one of the top wrestlers in the Midwest, recently finishing a 41-0 season on the mat. Wirfs had one of the best multi-sport profiles we’ve seen in recent years, winning a combined six state titles in wrestling and track and field.

Charles Jagusah rated as a 5-star prospect in overhauled On300

Charles Power

In assessing the offensive tackles, we give the current edge to Charles Jagusah as the top prospect at the position. We’ve been high on the 6-foot-6, 300-pounder since the initial rankings release back in the fall. He was primarily recruited as a defensive tackle at the time, but the upside as a potential top offensive tackle prospect was apparent. Over the past six months, Jagusah has developed into that big-time offensive tackle prospect. Jagusah is a highly fluid and functional athlete, showing flexibility, coordination and balance. He stars on both sides of the ball for Rock Island (Ill.) Alleman and consistently flashes light-footed movement skills and top notch play strength both as an offensive tackle and defensive lineman. Jagusah hits high-end measurement thresholds at offensive tackle when it comes to length and frame. He also doubles as a top wrestler, where is one of the best heavyweights in the Midwest. Jagusah recently wrapped up a 41-0 season on the mat, culminating in a state championship.
