As a College Recruit

Twitchy, explosive jumbo athlete who looks like one of the top offensive tackles in the 2025 cycle early on. A two-way star for Providence Chrisitian in Charlotte as an offensive tackle and defensive lineman. Has a tall, lean frame, measuring in at around 6-foot-5.5, 250 pounds. Registers as a top athlete, excelling in the combine setting. Transfers that athleticism over to the field. An electric mover for an underclassman offensive line prospect. Explodes to the second level and moves effortlessly in space. Plays much stronger than his lighter weight would suggest. Has developed upper body and core strength to plant defenders into the ground. Flashes some dominant tendencies as a drive blocker and finisher. Runs his feet on contact and plays with some nastiness. Relatively advanced technically. Also shows off his athleticism as a defensive lineman. Would be an easy Power 5 prospect on that side of the ball. Also shows his functional strength in track and field, where he’s a standout in the shot put, with an outstanding personal best of 53-3.5 feet as a sophomore. Will need to continue adding mass, as he is relatively lean and does not have an overly wide frame. Older for the class, turning 17 years-old as a sophomore.

David Sanders' frame and explosive athleticism remind us of Terron Armstead. Sandersis a much, much more heralded high school recruit, as Armstead landed in the FCS after a late growth spurt. Both are twitchy left tackles with backgrounds as excellent track and field throwers.

David Sanders a top performer at Under Armour Atlanta camp

Charles Power

David Sanders looked like the most athletic offensive lineman on hand at Under Armour Atlanta. The 6-foot-5.5, 250-pounder is a twitchy, reactive athlete who moved at a different speed than his peers over the course of the day. Sanders is a two-way star as an offensive tackle and defensive end at Charlotte (N.C.) Providence Day but projects on offensive long-term. In addition to his notable movement skills in drills, Sanders had two of the more impressive 1-on-1 reps from the session with emphatic wins over Alabama commit Sterling Dixon. The 2025 prospect will need to add considerable mass, but has already shown an encouraging anchor.

David Sanders impresses on both sides of the ball in sophomore season opener

Charles Power

David Sanders debuted as a member of On3’s 2025 Top 100 Watch List last week. The 6-foot-6, 240-pound sophomore was highly impressive in Providence Day’s win, lining up at both offensive tackle and defensive end. Sanders showed off plus movement skills and feet in pass protection. He was also quite disruptive as a pass rusher, registering a sack and several pressures that we saw. The stamina and athleticism to perform so well on both sides of the ball is not something we typically see from many offensive linemen, particularly underclassmen.
