Devin Leary was an On3 Consensus four-star recruit coming out of Sicklerville (New Jersey) Timber Creek in the 2018 class. He signed with NC State over offers from Baylor, Maryland, West Virginia, Iowa and other programs. Leary’s career at NC State came to an end in October 2022 when he suffered a torn pectoral muscle. Originally, Leary’s timeline to return had him missing just a couple of weeks. However, NC State dropped a bombshell in mid-October, revealing that the Wolfpack signal caller would undergo season-ending surgery. Over six games in the 2022 season, Leary accumulated 1,265 passing yards with a 61.6% completion rate and 11 touchdowns to four interceptions. While leading the Wolf Pack to a 9-3 record in 2021, Leary threw for 3,433 yards with 35 touchdowns and just five interceptions. After the 2022 season, Leary entered the Transfer Portal with one year of eligibility remaining.
