As a Recruit
Personal Life
Dominic Peterson was an On3 Consensus three-star recruit in the Class of 2017 coming out of Harbor City (California) Narbonne. But his only other major offers at the time were Syracuse, West Liberty and Sacramento State. Yet, he made a big impact for the Wolfpack in his redshirt freshman season by starting in 10 games. Then he had a monster sophomore season and was honored as the Pack’s most outstanding defensive player after recording 15 tackles for a loss and nine sacks. Peterson was an all-conference player in the 2020 COVID-shortened season and then repeated the honors in the 2021 season. His father, Darwin, played college football for Arkansas-Pine Bluff and received a tryout with the Dallas Cowboys. He said he picked the Pack coming out of high school because he “had a chip on his shoulder.”
