As a Recruit
Personal Life
Drew Sanders did everything as a five-star recruit out of Denton (Texas) Ryan. He was the 2018 Dallas Morning News SportsDayHS Utility Player of the Year. He finished his high school career with 48 rushing/receiving touchdowns and 10 passing touchdowns plus a plethora of tackles. He played mostly on special teams as a freshman but did contribute on defense as well. He made three starts as a sophomore but lost the job to Dallas Turner after an injury. Sanders entered the transfer portal and went to Arkansas, where he moved from outside linebacker to middle linebacker. Sanders was freshman year roommate with Will Anderson at Alabama. His father, Mitch Sanders, was a football coach for two-and-a-half decades.
