Jackson Fields QB 2026
Jackson Fields QB Destrehan, LA. Varsity Highlights
Personal Life
Fields stands at 6-foot-2 and weighs 207 pounds, and he checks a lot of boxes as a quarterback prospect. He displays the ability to make a wide range of throws on the field by hitting his wide receivers in stride while pushing the ball down the field and threading the needle through tight coverage on underneath routes. He also seems to have great pocket awareness. “I feel like my poise and accuracy are my best attributes,” said Fields. “I’ve had to deal with adversity over my high school career, whether it be an injury, coaching changes or top-tier opponents. I feel like these experiences have really just made me comfortable with who I am as a quarterback and a better leader. When it comes to my arm, I feel as if I can make any throw in any situation. I can get the ball out on time and make layered throws that give my wide receivers the best opportunity to make a play. At Destrehan, it is the standard to not let anyone work harder than you, and I feel that my hard work and great coaching have gotten me prepared for the spotlight.” -Justin Smith/ TDAlabamamag.com Jackson Fields had already proven himself as a winner under center for Destrehan, compiling a 19-3 record as a two-year starter. But one perfectly placed 70-yard touchdown pass at the spring game against Edna Karr — and the viral clip that followed — has launched the Class of 2026 quarterback into the national spotlight with much more interest from Power 4 programs. The 6-foot-2, 205-pound Fields delivered a dime while on the move to longtime teammate and LSU wide receiver commitment Jabari Mack, igniting a wave of interest from college programs across the country. The list of schools includes LSU, Alabama, Oklahoma and Mississippi State from the SEC, along with Ohio State, Florida State, Indiana, UConn, Pitt and several programs from the American, Sun Belt and FCS ranks. “Most have said how much they love my film but they want to see me throw live,” Fields added. “I couldn’t be more excited to get to these camps and compete!” Fields, who holds offers from Nicholls State, Lamar, West Georgia, Central Arkansas and Jackson State, is wasting no time capitalizing on the momentum. He’ll be on the road over the next few weeks visiting South Alabama, Oklahoma, Ohio State, Tulane, Florida State, Alabama and LSU — where he’ll throw at the Tigers’ Friday Night Lights camp on June 20. Fields has thrown for 4,190 yards and 52 touchdowns on 250-of-377 passing in his two years as a starter — and his best football may still be ahead. -Julie Boudwin / BengalTigersOn3.com
