Jacolby Criswell was an On3 Consensus four-star prospect coming out of Morrilton (Arkansas) High School in the 2020 recruiting class. He originally signed with North Carolina out of high school, turning down a long list of major offers, including from Georgia, Auburn, Miami, Mississippi State and others. Criswell was the backup quarterback all three seasons for the Tar Heels. He lost the competition to be the 2022 starter to Drake Maye. After the season was over, he entered the Transfer Portal. Criswell played in three games in 2022, four games in 2021 and seven games in 2020. Across those 13 games, he was 18-for-31 passing for 204 yards, one touchdown and one interception. He also rushed for 133 yards and one touchdown on 20 attempts.
