Personal Life
Jared Verse had zero scholarship offers coming out of Bloomsburg (Pa.) Central Columbia as a tight end. But Albany thought he could be a fit as a defensive end. He redshirted his first year on campus in 2019, learning how to play a new position. And then between the start of the COVID-19 shutdown and January 2021, Verse has said he gained 40 pounds. He played very well in the 2021 spring season, winning CAA Defensive Rookie of the Year. But then burst on the scene during the 2021 FCS fall season, earning FCS Freshman All-American honors thanks to 53 tackles, 11.5 tackles for loss, 10.5 sacks and 13 quarterback hurries. He then entered the portal and transferred to Florida State. He is the son of Eric and Jannienne Verse. Verse has five siblings: Soleil, Aneira, Miyah, Aaron and Terrance. He was majoring in engineering at Albany.
