As a College Recruit

Highly coordinated corner who may be the most technically skilled prospect at the position in the 2024 cycle. Measured at 6-foot-0.5, 180 pounds prior to his senior season. Has average to below average length with 30-inch arms. A dominant player on Friday nights who consistently shuts down his side of the field. Highly instinctual in coverage. Comfortable working on an island without safety help. Excellent at reading receivers and understanding route concepts. Has high level ball skills. Turned in elite ball production as a junior, breaking up 27 passes and notching nine interceptions. Playing some wide receiver as a senior and has made a few difficult contested grabs. Quicker than fast, but has improved his speed, running a 11.27 time in the 100 meters as a junior. Could play outside or in the slot at the next level. Physical traits and skills may be best suited to play as a slot corner long-term. Also doubles as a great high school basketball player, averaging 19.5 points per game as a junior. Shows his advanced spatial awareness and change of direction in picking his way through defenses as a ball-handler. May not have the high-end physical traits of most elite cornerback prospects but highly skilled and has a high floor.

Kaleb Beasley turns in strong showing at LSU camp

Charles Power

If Jermaine Mathews was the top corner at LSU's camp on Thursday, 2024 prospect Kaleb Beasley was a close second. Beasley was silky smooth in coverage and locked down opposing receivers all day. The 6-foot-0.5, 180-pounder is technically advanced for a rising junior. He did a great job of staying in-phase with receivers and made numerous plays on the ball in 1-on-1’s and 7-on-7 including a one-handed interception.
