As a College Recruit

Jump ball specialist who touts a catch radius that is one of the largest in the 2024 cycle. Measured in at over 6-foot-5 and around 210 pounds prior to his senior season. Has plus length for the position. Thinly built and will need to fill out considerably. Touts plus ball skills in about every facet. A natural plucker of the football. Standout on the camp and 7-on-7 circuit, where he made some of the best grabs we saw all year. Contorts his body to hang in traffic and come down with amazing high-point grabs. Carries that skill set over to Friday nights. Projects as a threat in the red zone. Easily comes down with fade passes. Looks like a man amongst boys playing against high school competition that is average at best. Improved his YAC ability as a senior. Effective working over the middle of the field. Finished his senior season with 55 catches for 929 yards and nine touchdowns. Returned a kick for a touchdown. Has some tightness in his hips that shortens his stride once he has to open up. Will need to add weight to be an every down tight end, but has some of the more notable mismatch ability in the passing game at the position in the 2024 cycle.

KJ Duff shows great ball skills at OT7 Finals

Charles Power

While Luke Reynolds was the top tight end at the Elite 11 Finals, KJ Duff was easily the top player at the position at the OT7 Finals. Duff made a few ridiculous grabs in knockout play on Sunday. He came down with a jump ball over a throng of three or four defensive backs for a wild touchdown grab and later elevated to catch a speeding Julian Sayin pass in the back of the end zone. Duff’s coordination and ball skills look to be highly translatable to the next level. Already an On300 prospect, Duff ranks as the No. 281 prospect in the 2024 cycle.
