As a College Recruit

Instinctive corner with coverage versatility. Has good polish and the ability to cover both outside and in the slot. Draws on his background as a wide receiver to make plays on the ball in coverage. Measured at around 5-foot-11, 180 pounds with a 6-foot-3 wing-span prior to his senior season. Registers as a solid athlete, running an electronically-timed 4.61 40-yard dash in 2021 along with a 43+ foot long jump in track and field. A natural corner who makes plays at a high rate when targeted on Friday nights and in neutral settings. Has an innate feel and spatial awareness. Showed signs of improved physicality later in his high school career. Helped his high school team win back-to-back state titles as a junior and senior. Does not have overwhelming physical traits but polish and instincts along with positional versatility point to a high floor.

Malik Muhammad a top performer at Overtime OT7 7-on-7

Malik Muhammad gets the nod as the top cornerback on the week after turning in a great day of play on Sunday. The Dallas South Oak Cliff cover corner was the top defensive back for the OT7 champion South Florida Express. He got his hands on the football quite often, closing quickly for pass breakups and jumping a quick pass for an interception on a conversion attempt. Muhammad has good length and showed some encouraging technique off the line of scrimmage. We saw him lock horns with fellow metro Dallas prospect, Johntay Cook, with each having their moments. Muhammad also stuck with fellow Top Performer Jordan Ross over the middle of the field.

On3’s No. 2-rated corner was better and better as the week went on in Las Vegas and by Sunday. Muhammad played with a chip on his shoulder and stuck in the hips of receivers throughout the tournament. That led to some game-winning and game-changing interceptions on Championship Sunday to build off an already stellar resume from the event. Muhammad is coming off a stellar season on the track, has added muscle onto his frame and played at the highest level yet.
