As a College Recruit

A fluid, coordinated pass rusher. Turns tight corners at high speeds and shows the flexibility to dip and bend around the edge. Uses his quick hands to swat and disengage from offensive tackles in pass rush situations. Capable of affecting passing lanes with his instincts and athleticism. Has shown the ability to be a strong pursuit defender when engaged. Comes from a high school program that broke the record for most former players taken in one NFL Draft. Had a stronger junior season than his senior season to date. Can continue to ramp up the physicality on a snap to snap basis. Younger for the class with a summer birthday and went from 215 to 245 pounds between his junior and senior year.

We’ve seen Marvin Jones' body change, as he’s continued to grow and add significant size. The Georgia signee now checks in at 6-foot-5 and around 255 pounds. Epenesa, who was also a five-star prospect in the 2017 cycle was a shade over 6-foot-5 and in the 260’s. Both Jones and Epenesa excel with their ability to bend around the edge as opposed to freaky athleticism.

Marvin Jones Jr. a top performer at All-American Bowl

Charles Power

The current No. 1 prospect in the On300, Marvin Jones Jr. entered the All-American Bowl with something to prove. Jones answered the bell, turning in a strong week of work. The 6-foot-5, 250-pounder was the top EDGE in practices. He flashed top notch flexibility and curvilinear movement in rounding the hoop. Jones is not a finished product and will need to continue honing some technique and his finishing ability. With that said, he was certainly among the more disruptive defensive players on hand throughout the week.

Marvin Jones Jr. has explosive sack vs. IMG

Charles Power

It didn’t take too long for Marvin Jones Jr. make his presence felt against nationally-ranked IMG Academy. The five-star broke through the line early in the first quarter for an explosive sack. IMG did a nice job not giving Jones too many pure pass rush opportunities for most of the game. He still made some plays though, including a tackle for loss in backside pursuit.
