As a Recruit
Matt Corral, a native of Ventura, Calif, was an On3 Consensus four-star quarterback coming out of high school. Corral attended Westlake Village (Calif.) Oaks Christian for his first three years and was the starting quarterback all three years. He was the first started in program history. But Corral transferred after getting into a confrontation with classmate Tristan Gretzky, the son of Wayne Gretzky, at a high school basketball game. He spent his senior year ar Long Beach (Calif.) Long Beach Poly under head coach and Super Bowl XLII champion Antonio Pierce. He committed and decommitted from USC and Florida before deciding on Ole Miss. Corral redshirted his freshman year in Oxford, Miss., and started four games as a redshirt freshman. He took over as the starter in 2020 and was a Manning Award finalist. Corral is the son of Peter and Elizabeth Corral. He is majoring in multi-disciplinary studies at Ole Miss.
