Personal Life
Taulia Tagovailoa was an On3 Consensus four-star recruit in the 2019 recruiting class coming out of Alabaster (Alabama) Thompson High School. Tagovailoa, the younger brother of Tua Tagovailoa, followed in Tua’s footsteps to Alabama. In 2019 he was the backup behind his brother and Mac Jones. He finished the season nine of 12 for 100 yards and one touchdown. He then entered the Transfer Portal in May 2020 and picked Maryland. By 2020 and 2021, Tagovailoa cemented his position as the starting quarterback for the Terps. He started all 13 games, earned honorable mention All-Big Ten honors and also was named MVP of the Pinstripe Bowl. Tagovailoa holds the Maryland single-season record for completions and passing yards, and he’s also the career passing yards leader and career touchdown passes leader.
