Tez Johnson began his college career at Troy after signing with the Trojans out of Pinson (Alabama) Valley High School. As a freshman at Troy, he finished the season with 67 catches for 735 yards and four scores. Then in the 2022 season, he became the 20th player in Troy program history with 100 career catches. He also tied for the ninth-most catches in program history with 141 and 10th with 1,809 yards. He transferred to Oregon ahead of the 2023 season and instantly made an impact for the Ducks. Down the stretch of the season, he recorded 180 yards and two touchdowns against Cal, 126 yards and two scores against USC and 137 yards against Oregon State.
