Personal Life
Tyleik Williams is just "different," according to Ohio State coach Ryan Day. "He's different, but in a good way," Day said at Big Ten Media Days ahead of the 2024 season. "There aren't too many 300-pounders that can move like him. You always saw his athleticism, like he's tremendously athletic – one of the better athletes we have on our team. From zero to 10 yards, he has one of our better times, and we have some really good athletes. But he also has this football IQ that we absolutely love. He's not just a physical player. We think he's a complete player." Williams said he had to work to develop into the player he is today. "I was fat when I arrived at Ohio State," Williams said. “I was supposed to be around 320, but COVID got the best of me. It was rough. I was always last in the drills. But I kept working and working." In 2023, Williams recorded a conference-leading 54 tackles, 10 for loss, and recovered one fumble. Williams was a third team All-Big Ten selection by the coaches and a second-team pick by the media in 2023.
