Personal Life
Tyler Linderbaum was a four-sport athlete at Solon (Iowa) High, playing football, wrestling, baseball and track and field. He was good at all four. In wrestling, he finished fifth in the state in the heavyweight division. He played offensive and defensive line on the football team and earned all-state honors as both a junior and senior. He grew up watching Iowa games — the campus is located just 10 miles away from Solon. He started out as a defensive lineman with the Hawkeyes, playing in two games during his redshirt season in 2018. But then he moved to the other side of the ball and earned the starting center role by the start of the 2019 season. He was a finalist for the Rimington Trophy and earned All-American first and second team honors from multiple outlets. He was an All-Big Ten first team member by the media and AP. He is the son of Lisa and Todd Linderbaum. He is majoring in enterprise leadership at Iowa.
