Victor Wembanyama

As a College Recruit

Victor Wembanyama is a completely unique player with his size and skill set. A true one of one player that would be difficult to try to compare to any who has played before. For starters, he stand in the 7-3, 7-4 range with a reported 8-foot-0 wing span. He will need to continue adding weight, which could also answer injury-risk questions. At his size, Wembanyama is a capable ball handler in the half court. He has shown the ability to push the break with control, as well as get to his spots efficiently. Wembanyama has smooth, consistent touch on the jump shot, next for him is working on his balance points off movement. He is comfortable facing up, capable of using his size and length to simply rise up and shoot over defenders. He is a good defender, he gives effort. His fluidity, able to move his feet and open his hips allow for his reported eight-foot wingspan to really disrupt a lot at the rim and in the passing lanes. It also helps with his recovery, blocking shots without fouling, after being beat in the half court. The sky is the limit here. Even averaging 21 and 10 as a 19 year old in his French professional league, there is still some ceiling to climb into.
