Angel Reese entered Wednesday’s game against the Dallas Wings in the midst of a hot streak. She averaged more than 17 points and 16 rebounds through her last six games, bringing plenty of momentum into the matchup.

Reese’s hot streak continued, and a fourth-quarter sequence proved just how impressive she’s been. On the same sequence, she lost a contact lens, made a layup and drew the foul.

As she played defense, Reese had her contact knocked out, and she handed it to Sky head coach Tyler Marsh. Play continued, meaning she had to play offense with one lens in, and she didn’t miss a beat. She went right into the paint and finished the right-handed layup.

Then, she had to go back to the bench and pick up her contact from Marsh. After all, she had to shoot the free throw.

Reese extended her double-double streak to seven in Wednesday’s game – an 87-76 victory. She had 15 points and 11 rebounds as the Sky picked up their sixth win of the season and third against the Wings this year. Rebecca Allen had a huge game with 27 points off the bench, including a 5-of-7 showing from three-point territory.

It was quite the night for Reese despite questions about whether she’d even be able to play. She popped up on the injury report Wednesday afternoon with a leg injury and was listed as questionable. Marsh made it clear it’s not a serious issue, but the former LSU star was still a game-time decision.

With her performance, Reese added to her strong run over the last few weeks. Over the last seven games, she’s averaging 17.4 points and 16.1 points.

Amid the strong showing, Reese is also finding further success off the court. 2K Sports announced she will be on the cover of the WNBA edition of NBA 2K26, and it also marked the debut of her first signature shoe with Reebok. The Angel Reese 1s are feature a “Diamond Dust” colorway and also appear on the cover of the video game.

“Diamond Dust. Just a kid from Baltimore, turning dreams into reality and hoping I can inspire young women and men everywhere to do the same,” Reese wrote on X. “The most brilliant diamonds take pressure, polish, and time. Reebok is back — and the diamonds are shining brighter than ever.”

Angel Reese and the Sky will look to build on Wednesday’s win when they take on the Minnesota Lynx this weekend. Tip-off is set for Saturday at 1 p.m. ET on ABC.
