Boston College freshman guard Amirah Anderson has quickly stood out and is already pushing for a starting role this season, a source told On3.

The 5-11 guard was a four-star recruit, ranked No. 75 on ESPN HoopGurlz. According to the source, Anderson has been one of the most consistent performers since her arrival in Chestnut Hill. Despite being just a freshman, she’s emerged as a vocal leader.

“She definitely should have a really impactful start to her career,” the source told On3.

On the court, her shooting, motor and confidence have set her apart. With so many newcomers to this Boston College team, there’s a real opening for her to be a major contributor this season.

Lily Carmody, an Australian transfer from Butler, is another versatile guard expected to play a significant role for the Eagles. The 5-11 sophomore averaged 6.6 points, 2.7 rebounds and two assists for the Bulldogs last season.

The Eagles are expected to lean heavily on their guard play this season and Anderson has positioned herself well this offseason. The source noted that Anderson’s communication and leadership are key reasons she’s separated herself early.

Over the last two years at Bishop Ireton in Virginia, Anderson averaged over 14 points, 7.5 rebounds and three assists per game.

Last season, the Boston College Eagles finished the year with a 16-18 overall record and a 6-12 mark in ACC play. The Eagles will start the 2025-26 campaign with an exhibition against UConn at Mohegan Sun and a regular-season matchup against Holy Cross on Nov. 3.
