During the third quarter of Tuesday’s game between the Indiana Fever and Connecticut Sun, the officials went to the monitor to review an out of bounds call following a Connecticut challenge. During the review, Caitlin Clark got into a heated exchange with the official.

Clark asked one of the referees a question as she headed to the huddle with 4:33 to go in the third quarter. It’s unclear what was said, but Clark could be seen saying, “Are you f***ing kidding me” toward him as he walked away.

The review went on, and Clark again sought out the official. They then went their separate ways before the Sun officially won the challenge, getting the ball back.

Clark is in the midst of a huge second season in the WNBA despite dealing with injuries throughout the year. She entered Tuesday’s game averaging 16.7 points to go with 9.0 assists and 4.8 rebounds. In addition, she’s preparing for her first WNBA three-point contest when the game comes to Indiana this weekend.

It’s been a rough go as of late for the former Iowa star, though. She has made just 29.5% of her shots over her last six games entering Tuesday’s game against Connecticut, with the lone bright spot coming in a 19-point showing in a loss to the Las Vegas Aces. Last time out against the Dallas Wings, Clark had 14 points, but shot 4-for-12 from the field.

However, Caitlin Clark is keeping things in perspective amid the rough stretch. She said it’s all about staying confident and getting just one or two shots to fall. Then, hopefully, she’ll turn things back around.

“I still probably didn’t shoot it as good as I would have liked, but I feel like it’s coming,” Clark said, via the Indianapolis Star’s Chloe Peterson. “Just trying to continue to get my legs under me. And, like I said, pregame, like I feel like I’m a couple shots away from, like, having a really good game.”

Indiana is coming off a resounding victory over Paige Bueckers and the Dallas Wings in a game that resulted in huge TV numbers. The matchup drew 2.5 million viewers, making it the fourth-most watched game ever in a ratings victory for ESPN. The last two No. 1 overall picks are also two of the faces of the sport and will both be in Indianapolis for All-Star Weekend.
