Caitlin Clark jabs reporter after phone rings during postgame press conference

In her return to action following a quad injury, Caitlin Clark had a day to remember. She helped lead the Indiana Fever to a victory over the New York Liberty with a huge performance.
Clark was all smiles in the postgame press conference, as well. In fact, she poked fun at a reporter whose phone went off while asking a question.
The reporter’s phone started to ring as the press conference began following the 102-88 victory at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. Clark joked she has trouble multitasking and wouldn’t be able to hear unless the phone was turned off.
“You can’t ask a question on your phone and your phone ring,” Clark joked. “You can ask the question after you turn it off. There you go. I’m not a good multitasker. I can’t hear.”
Clark had every reason to feel good about Saturday’s performance, which marked her first appearance in three weeks. She had one of her best games of the year, dropping 32 points while adding eight rebounds and nine assists to flirt with a triple-double and hand the Liberty their first loss of the season.

Clark scored 25 of her points in the first half, including a 6-of-8 showing from 3-point range. As a group, the Fever hit 17 3-pointers in Saturday’s game, which was two shy of the WNBA regular-season record.
Prior to tip-off, Caitlin Clark made it clear she didn’t expect a minutes restriction, and although her 31 minutes were her fewest of the season – she played 32 minutes in two previous games – she didn’t appear limited at all. Afterward, she told ESPN’s Christine Williamson there wasn’t much rust and Stephanie White made sure she didn’t push things too far.
“I feel good,” Clark said. “I thought my rotations were good. Steph got me a couple of breathers. But I feel strong, I feel good. I thought we played a good game. I thought there was a lot we could improve on, which is really positive for us. But that’s how the Fever are supposed to play basketball. Up-tempo, unselfish, working for your teammates. So really proud of our group.”
The win moves the Fever into first place in the Eastern Conference in the WNBA Commissioner’s Cup standings. Both Indiana and New York have 3-1 records in Commissioner’s Cup games, but the Fever now own the head-to-head tiebreaker. The top team from the Eastern Conference will play the top team from the Western Conference in the Commissioner’s Cup Championship on July 1 with a $500,000 prize at stake.
