Cincinnati freshman Dee Alexander sidelined for first half of 2025-26 season

Cincinnati’s Dee Alexander will be sidelined for the first half of the season due to an ankle injury, she announced. Alexander is the highest-ranked recruit in program history and was expected to be the centerpiece of this Bearcats team.
She was the second player ever to win Ohio Ms. Basketball three straight years and earned back-to-back Ohio Gatorade Player of the Year honors. Alexander was also named Big 12 Preseason Freshman of the Year.

The Bearcats were picked to finish 12th in the Big 12 preseason coaches’ poll and 13th in On3’s preseason power rankings.
Alexander posted the update on social media, saying:
“Unfortunately, I’ve suffered an injury to my lower extremity that will keep me sidelined for the first half of the season. This definitely wasn’t part of the plan, and it’s tough knowing I won’t be out there competing alongside my team right away. That said, I’m fully committed to my recovery, and doing everything I can to come back stronger than ever… I’ll be back in the second half of the season, ready to give everything I’ve got for this team and for Bearcat Nation.”
