DePaul's Kate Clarke and Meg Newman will miss time due to injury

DePaul women’s basketball head coach Jill Pizzotti announced Thursday that senior guard Kate Clarke and grad forward Meg Newman will miss time this season due to injury.

Clarke will be sidelined with a hand injury, while Newman is recovering from a lower leg injury, per release. Clarke averaged 11.9 points per game while shooting 36% from deep last season, while Newman averaged 7.8 points and 8.2 rebounds last year. They’re both expected to return to play this season, but there is no definitive timeline.

This is head coach Pizzotti’s first year at the helm after being promoted from associate head coach following longtime head coach Doug Bruno’s retirement this offseason.
