Gabby Thomas reveals if she will compete in 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles

The 2028 Summer Olympics will be held in Los Angeles, and Gabby Thomas is ready to put on a show in her home country. In an email interview with On3, the track and field star was asked if she was planning to participate in the Los Angeles Olympics.
“I absolutely plan to compete in the LA2028 Games,” Gabby Thomas told On3. “Competing in a home Olympics really is a dream-come-true. I would be able to represent the U.S. in front of a home crowd with so much of my family and friends there. It also feels special for the next generation of boys and girls here- when such a special event is brought to you, chasing your dreams really feels within reach.”
The upcoming Summer Olympics will be held in the United States for the first time since the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta. The interesting thing about that is Thomas was born in Atlanta on Dec. 7, 1996.
If Thomas does take part in the Los Angeles Olympics, she will look to build on what she did last year in Paris. Thomas won three gold medals, placing first in the 200-meter dash, 4 x 100-meter relay, and the 4 x 400-meter relay.

Gabby Thomas suffered an injury earlier this yar
As Thomas gets ready for the next Olympics, she is currently working to be 100 percent healthy. In May, the 28-year-old suffered an Achilles injury, which led to her not competing in this year’s World Athletics Championships. The good news is Thomas will be ready to go next year.
“Rehab is going well! With injuries, it’s all about time and patience, which I am no stranger to,” Thomas said. “I’ve been working with my incredible team to come back stronger. I’ve been in the sport for a while now, so I understand the importance of focusing on recovery physically and mentally. I plan to be fully healthy and ready to compete for the 2026 track season.”
The 2028 Summer Olympics will take place from July 14, 2028, to July 30, 2028. Events will be held in Los Angeles and cities in the Greater Los Angeles area. This will be the third time Los Angeles has hosted the Summer Olympics. The first time was in 1932, and the second was in 1984.
