Reebok announces release date for Angel Reese 1 shoe

Angel Reese agreed to an extension with Reebok recently, which included a signature shoe going back to last October. Now, nearly a year later, that shoe line has an official release date from the outlet.
Reebok announced the date for the release of the Angel Reese 1 this morning. The shoe will be dropping at the start of next week, on August 18th.
“The Angel Reese 1: Diamond Dust,” Reebok tweeted out on Thursday. “Made for the spotlight. Available on 9/18.”
Reese has partnered with Reebok since her college career in October of 2023, with its basketball division having Shaquille O’Neal, a former legend himself at LSU, as president. She has since had several products during her partnership with the brand over the past two years, including the announcement of this signature shoe coming at the time of her signing her extension during the fall of last year.
This is just the latest brand deal that Reese has profited from and continued to build her own name off of over the past few years. Her contracts have varied in their respective markets, with the most recent being a video game as she was named as the female cover athlete for NBA 2K26 in July.

Reese is nearing the end of her second season with the Chicago Sky in the WNBA. She’s averaging 14.2 points (44.4% FG), 12.6 rebounds, 3.7 assists, and 1.5 steals per game. Nearly all of those are up from her rookie season last year. Those stats led the Sky in scoring, rebounding, and assists after she led in rebounds and steals for the team a year ago, and her rebounding is leading the league again in the WNBA. However, Reese has missed the past six games and been out for nine of the last 11 for Chicago as she deals with a back injury.
Fever vs. Sky sees major dip in rating with Caitlin Clark, Angel Reese out
With Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese out due to injury, Saturday’s game between the Chicago Sky and Indiana Fever saw its television ratings take a massive hit. According to Front Office Sports, 1.31 million viewers tuned into the broadcast on CBS, which was the lowest viewership for a game between the Sky and Feven since Clark and Reese entered the league in 2024.
Additionally, a July 27th matchup broadcast on ABC in which Clark and Reese both also missed due to injury drew only 1.47 million viewers. Compare that to the 2.7 million people who tuned in for the season opener between the Sky and Fever and it illustrates how large of an impact Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese have on viewership. That number was the largest for a regular season game in the past quarter-century for the WNBA. Two other Sky-Fever games surpassed two million viewers back last season in 2024.
