Shaquille O’Neal went off on Robert Griffin III following the latest controversy surrounding the former quarterback and Angel Reese. In fact, things could get physical if it continues.

Originally, Griffin III said he spoke up in support of Reese after a picture of her with a photoshopped monkey appeared on her head when she was announced as the WNBA cover athlete for NBA 2K26. In his social media post, Griffin III said people in Reese’s inner circle also talked to him about her relationship with Caitlin Clark.

Reese called out the former No. 2 overall pick for being a liar and ESPN’s Ryan Clark took it one step further, calling out his former teammate. But O’Neal, who’s very close with Reese, absolutely teed off on RG III. The quote below is NSFW.

“She hears all the noise, but some noise shouldn’t be said,” O’Neal said on Off The Record. “You tweeting monkey pictures or you retweeting monkey pictures, now her bodyguard has to step in. So again, you keep it up, when I see you, something (is) going to have to go down … I have a daughter who plays for the University of Florida, if that was my daughter, there ain’t gonna be no talking … Angel is like a daughter to me. You disrespect my daughter, Shaq daddy has to step in. That was uncalled for. Say what you gotta say, do what you gotta do …be a professional man. Don’t be an idiot. I’m not going to repeat what Ryan (Clark) said but he hit it right on the head … You talk about how she hates Caitlin, (RG III) hates (Angel) for some reason, like why? What did that girl do to you … you ain’t going to mess with my little baby like that …

Shaq calls out RG III amid Angel Reese controversy

“I saw Ryan say something about it … so I wanted to get clarification … somebody showed me something and I can read. I got four degrees, bachelors, a masters, a doctorate and street. I know exactly what you did … I know what the fuck you thinking. You can take it back all you want , I know what the fuck you thinking my boy … So now that you did it, her bodyguard is fucking stepping up. You keep fucking with (her), I’m going to punch you in your fucking face.”

Safe to say, there’s no love lost when it comes to O’Neal and Griffin III. While this story is still fresh, perhaps the former QB should steer clear of the Basketball Hall of Famer.

Granted, if there’s more Reese-Clark drama within WNBA debate points, Griffin III and others could very well chime in. Shaq-Diesel is clearly not a fan of any version of the Reese talking points currently.
