Six women's basketball games to watch this week

It’s a big week of women’s college basketball. Here are six games to keep an eye on throughout the stretch.

Iowa at Iowa State

Wednesday at 7pm (ESPN)

I love a good rivalry matchup and this one is good. Iowa and Iowa State are both currently Top-15 teams that have high expectations this season. I think Iowa State has the edge in this one, but they haven’t truly been tested yet this season.

Talia’s prediction: Iowa State

Oklahoma at Oklahoma State

Saturday at 4pm EST (ESPNU)

It’s another great rivalry matchup. Oklahoma is coming off a close OT win over NC State. Oklahoma State hasn’t been tested quite as much this season, but we do know they can shoot the heck out of the ball.

Talia’s prediction: Oklahoma

UConn at USC

Saturday at 5:30pm EST (FOX)

UConn continues its challenging non-conference schedule as the Huskies travel to USC. The Trojans just notched a ranked win over Washington, but the defending champions are a much taller task.

Talia’s prediction: UConn

Baylor at Texas

Sunday at 1pm EST (ABC)

How many in-state matchups can we have in one week? Baylor is currently a Top-15, but I’m not quite sold on the Bears just yet. Texas, on the other hand? After their trip to Las Vegas, I’m sold. They do have a few lingering injuries that could impact their depth in this one, though.

Talia’s prediction: Texas

Kentucky at Belmont

Sunday at 3pm EST (ESPN+)

Kentucky has had a strong start to the year, with just one loss to Maryland. Belmont is always a team that has the potential to give P5’s some trouble — especially since the Wildcats are traveling to Nashville for this one.

Talia’s prediction: Kentucky

Louisville at North Carolina

Sunday at 4pm EST (ACCN)

ACC play has arrived and this should be a great matchup between the current Top-2 teams in the league. North Carolina has had a strong opening month and Kentucky, although they have three losses, put up a heck of a fight against South Carolina.

Talia’s prediction: North Carolina
