It was a slower day of hoops, but still a few fun tidbits. Here are my daily takeaways.

1. Northwestern earns a solid road win

It’s longtime head coach Joe McKeown’s final year at the helm and the Wildcats earned a solid road win against first-year DePaul head coach Jill Pizzotti’s team. Northwestern’s Grace Sullivan and Caroline Lau were standouts in the win that shows solid improvement from a season ago.

This team has its work cut out for it to compete in the always-loaded Big Ten, though.

2. Notable results

VCU 69, Howard 66

Auburn 69, Georgia State 65

Stephen F. Austin 82, Houston 78
