Women's basketball watchlist: 11/27 edition
I’ll say it again: I love Feast Week. Here’s your daily watchlist.
BE SEATED AT ALL COSTS
These are the games you’re going to want to skip work for – the ones that will tell us a whole lot about the best of the best.
11am: South Dakota State vs. North Carolina (Flo)
South Dakota State is one of the most dangerous mid-majors in the country (and is currently in my Top 25). The Tar Heels are now seen as the best team in the ACC, but we’ll see if they can hold onto that title.
1:30pm: Columbia vs. Kansas State (Flo)
This is a really interesting one. Kansas State has underperformed, but this would still mark a really solid win for Columbia as the Ivy League looks to be a multi-bid conference again.
5:30pm: BYU vs. Virginia Tech (ESPN+)
BYU and Virginia Tech are both semi-wildcards to me with plenty of talent on roster. This one is a good litmus test.
8pm: Texas vs. South Carolina (truTV)
This is obviously the best game of the day — and also a matchup we may see three more times this season. Regardless, it’s two of the best teams in the country going head-to-head and that’s bound to be fun.
9pm: Richmond vs. TCU (Flo)
What a fun night game! Richmond can really give some P5s some trouble, but TCU has really high expectations this season. Let’s see if the Spiders can do some damage.

10:30pm: Duke vs. UCLA (truTV)
This is less interesting, but still important. Duke looked better yesterday against South Carolina, but UCLA certainly still has the edge.
THIS COULD BE COMPETITIVE/FUN
These matchups are more than just your run-of-the-mill easy blowouts. While some of them have the potential to be, these games are an opportunity to see good teams test themselves early.
12pm: Old Dominion vs. Oregon (Flo)
12:30pm: UCF vs. Wake Forest (Flo)
3pm: North Texas vs. Texas Tech (Flo)
4pm: NC State vs. Green Bay (Flo)
8pm: Oregon State vs. Vanderbilt (ESPN+)
A DECENT LOOK AND/OR AT OPTIMAL TIMES
These games will either be a solid look at a team or they just fall at optimal times. If you’re in need of basketball to watch all day (like me), these are games to add to your list.
10:30pm: Troy vs. Texas Southern (Flo)
WATCH YOUR TEAM WIN A BLOWOUT
The rest of the games here will likely provide no true competitive value – but you never know. These games are just a look at some P5’s playing teams they should beat with ease.
3pm: Hofstra vs. Maryland (Flo)
