Women's basketball watchlist: 12/10 edition

It’s a fun day of women’s hoops. Here’s my daily watchlist.

BE SEATED AT ALL COSTS

These are the games you’re going to want to skip work for – the ones that will tell us a whole lot about the best of the best.

7pm: Iowa at Iowa State (ESPN)

I love a good rivalry matchup and this one is good. Iowa and Iowa State are both currently Top-15 teams that have high expectations this season. I think Iowa State has the edge in this one, but they haven’t truly been tested yet this season.

THIS COULD BE COMPETITIVE/FUN

These matchups are more than just your run-of-the-mill easy blowouts. While some of them have the potential to be, these games are an opportunity to see good teams test themselves early.

1pm: Eastern Kentucky at Arizona (ESPN+)

7pm: URI at Providence (ESPN+)

7pm: Howard at Virginia (ACC Extra)

7pm: Illinois at Missouri (SECN)

7:30pm: Rutgers at Princeton (ESPN+)

9pm: Ball State at Louisville (ACCN)

9pm: Boise State at Utah (ESPN+)

10pm: Idaho at Cal (ACC Extra)

A DECENT LOOK AND/OR AT OPTIMAL TIMES

These games will either be a solid look at a team or they just fall at optimal times. If you’re in need of basketball to watch all day (like me), these are games to add to your list. 

12pm: South Dakota at Bradley (ESPN+)

12pm: San Diego State at Kansas State (ESPN+)

12pm: San Diego at Wisconsin (Big Ten+)

6pm: UNCG at Coastal Carolina (ESPN+)

7pm: South Dakota State at Northern Iowa (ESPN+)

7pm: Colgate at Syracuse (ACC Extra)

7:30pm: Coppin State at SMU (ACC Extra)

9:30pm: Fresno State at Saint Mary’s (ESPN+)

WATCH YOUR TEAM WIN A BLOWOUT

The rest of the games here will likely provide no true competitive value – but you never know. These games are just a look at some P5’s playing teams they should beat with ease. 

6pm: Delaware State at Maryland (Big Ten+)

6pm: Presbyterian at Virginia Tech (ACC Extra)

7:30pm: Texas at UTRGV (ESPN+)

8pm: Alabama A&M at Minnesota (Big Ten+)
