Women's basketball watchlist: 12/7 edition
It’s an absolutely loaded day of women’s hoops are there are plenty of good options. Here’s my daily watchlist.
BE SEATED AT ALL COSTS
These are the games you’re going to want to skip work for – the ones that will tell us a whole lot about the best of the best.
2pm: Fairfield at Richmond (ESPN+)
Two of the best mid-majors in the country go head-to-head. Fairfield just suffered a loss at Howard and will look to bounce back against Aaron Roussell and his squad on the road.
2pm: Duke at Virginia Tech (ACCN)
Similarly, Duke really needs a bounce-back game. On paper, this is a game they should certainly win. But nothing has gone as expected for the Blue Devils this season.
2pm: Seton Hall at NC State (ACC Extra)
This should be a really fun game. Seton Hall nearly took down Princeton and has just one loss, while NC State is still working to find their stride.
3pm: Oregon at UCLA (FS1)
Big Ten play is here and it’s good. Oregon is undefeated but largely untested, while UCLA remains one of the best teams in the country following a very challenging non-conference slate.
3pm: Ole Miss at Kansas State (ESPN+)
Ole Miss has let some teams keep it close this year. Kansas State has struggled in big moments. This is a game to keep an eye on.
4pm: Maryland at Minnesota (BTN)
Minnesota is looking to prove itself, while Maryland looks to earn another solid win for its resume. This is a good road test for the Terrapins.

4:30pm: Ball State at Davidson (ESPN+)
There’s not much I love more than an awesome mid-major game. This should provide plenty of competitiveness and be high on the entertainment scale.
8pm: Washington at USC (BTN)
Washington’s first test is no easy task. They’ll travel to LA and face a USC team that’s working to find its identity. This is a good litmus test for both squads.
THIS COULD BE COMPETITIVE/FUN
These matchups are more than just your run-of-the-mill easy blowouts. While some of them have the potential to be, these games are an opportunity to see good teams test themselves early.
