Hemphill High School, located in Hemphill, Texas, is one of Deep East Texas’ respected public-school athletic programs and has built a proud tradition of competition across multiple sports. Known as the Hornets, the school competes in the University Interscholastic League and fields teams in football, basketball, baseball, softball, volleyball, golf, tennis, track and field, cross country, powerlifting, and cheer. The Hornets are particularly recognized for football, basketball, and baseball, with programs that have earned district championships, playoff appearances, and produced numerous collegiate athletes.
