Hidalgo High School, located in Hidalgo, Texas, is one of the Rio Grande Valley’s respected public-school athletic programs and has built a proud tradition of competition across multiple sports. Known as the Pirates, the school competes in the University Interscholastic League and fields teams in football, basketball, baseball, softball, soccer, volleyball, golf, tennis, track and field, cross country, powerlifting, and cheer. The Pirates are particularly recognized for football, soccer, and track and field, with programs that have earned district championships, playoff appearances, and produced numerous collegiate athletes.
